Hillsboro Animal Clinic has been serving Hillsboro and neighboring communities in Marion County for over 40 years. The practice was established by Dr. Norman Galle and his wife Connie whom worked hard to build the business into a thriving veterinary practice, with many ties to the agricultural community. Dr. Jessica purchased the practice in June of 2014 eager to continue to provide high quality cutting edge rural veterinary medicine. Like the cottonwood tree that grows in the clinic lawn, the business has strong roots and many branches that will continually grow to meet a variety of patient and client needs. Here at Hillsboro Animal Clinic we will strive to provide professional veterinary care to any kind of animal in need.
Dr. Jessica Shearer is the owner and one of the practitioners at Hillsboro Animal clinic; she has rural Kansas roots, having grown up in a small agricultural community. She learned of her passion for veterinary medicine on her family dairy farm in Latham, KS.
She graduated from Kansas State University in 2010, and began her career as a mixed animal practitioner in Lyon, KS. Her focus is on providing quality medicine to both companion animals and production animals; knowing that each is an integral part of a rural practice.
She began working at Hillsboro Animal Clinic in the fall of 2013 and is excited to call this practice her home. Along with practicing veterinary medicine she holds a passionate love for the Lord and her family and friends. Without the help of our wonderful God none of this would have been possible. Dr. Shearer stays very active with her husband, John Shearer, on their Gelbvieh Ranch in Canton, Kansas and takes pride in raising their 4 children Adalynn and Alaina, Whitten and Wripley who you will most likely be seeing chute side or in the exam room.
